We are proud to announce the following highlights from 2021 and 2022:
1. Founding Attorney Lourdes Casanova was voted 2021 Member of the Year and 2022 President-Elect for the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association.
The board of directors for the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association selected Lourdes Casanova as Member of the Year in recognition of her exemplary work and her dedication to the organization and the community. Following this prestigious award, which was delivered at the Annual Labarga Luncheon (named after Florida Supreme Court Justice Jorge Labarga), Casanova was elected President of the Association; she was sworn in as President-Elect in January 2022 and will assume the role of President in January 2023.
2. Attorney Casanova was recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the legal community’s “Rising Stars.”
For the fourth year in a row (2019-2022), Super Lawyers – a lawyer rating service – featured Lourdes Casanova on its list of “Rising Stars.” Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys who have achieved a high level of professional achievement and peer recognition.
3. Casanova served as Immigration Co-Chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Bench Bar Conference.
The Bench Bar Conference is arguably the largest educational event for lawyers in Palm Beach County, offering Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits to lawyers who attend sessions. Attorney Casanova served as Co-Chair for the Immigration session of the Conference for the second year in a row, responsible for organizing the agenda, inviting panelists, and moderating the session.
4. Casanova served as a legal analyst for WPTV News Channel 5 regarding a high-profile criminal case.
Attorney Casanova has twice served as a legal commentator for WPTV about a high-profile homicide case in our area. Casanova’s TV discussion involved an analysis on the admissibility of statements as well as an overview of competency proceedings.
5. Casanova was a proud guest lecturer at Nova University’s Criminal Law and Procedure class.
Lourdes Casanova enjoyed speaking with students about the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution and the rules regarding searches, seizures, and warrants.
